Teens Take Action

Help End Animal Cruelty!

I earned $260 for the Helen Woodward Animal Center! May 10, 2011

I went to Helen Woodward today to give them the money I raised for them! I got to go on a whole tour of their facility and I learned about all of the great things that they do for people and for animals!

At their shelter, it only costs them $1.00 a day to feed one cat! With my donation, I just fed over 200 cats! Just one little thing, could make that big of a difference!

“People helping animals, and animals helping people” is their motto. Not only do they help animals, but they help people as well!

Pets are a person’s best companion, so every day, staff and volunteers take dogs, bunnies, birds, or guinea pigs to nursing homes, hospitals, and other facilities so the patients could interact with the loving animals.

Helen Woodward Animal Shelter feels it’s very important that isolated people have a pet to keep them company. Many people with special needs who can’t leave the house are forced to get rid of their pet since they are unable to leave the house to buy their pet food. That is why this shelter brings pet food to the owners home so the owner will get to keep their great companion!

Helen Woodward also has a program that teaches kids with special needs how to ride horses! This program helps kids increase their balance, control, short-term memory, and improves their self-confidence!

The Helen Woodward Animal Shelter has definately made a huge difference and is a very helpful, caring organization. Now it is YOUR time to help! Whether it’s donating to them, volunteering at their shelter, adopting their animals, or attending their events, anything you do will make a difference, and help change the world.
